Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW, KMDW) is the second-largest commercial airportin the Chicago metro region. It’s located in the central suburbs of downtown, about 8 miles from the city center. Midway was the primary airport until O’Hare replaced most of its commercial traffic when it opened in 1955. MDW is also the second busiest airport in Illinois, with more than 19 million passengers in 2022. MDW provides comprehensive FBO services at its two locations and has U.S. Custom Services on-site. The Midway Airfield covers about 320 acres, and it has five runways allowing for 207,000+ aircraft movements in 2022.

Located about 20 minutes from downtown Chicago, Midway Airport is home to Southwest Airlines and has a number of convenient options for passengers. The airport has an excellent passenger terminal that is well-equipped with ticketing, bag claim, and concessions areas. The CTA Orange Line connects the airport and city via a bridge over Cicero Avenue and offers train service downtown.
